Seeing the World

Our world has become a throwaway society. When we don’t want something we pick it up and throw it away and go out to buy new. While working in a restaurant as one of my summer jobs I watched full salads, to half eaten hamburgers get thrown away while people in Africa were starving. I’ve watched friends and family get divorced and I’ve seen toys and objects that could be easily fixed tossed in the trash can. I couldn’t believe my eyes how easily people let things go, they just toss them away with no care in the world. My family has been lucky enough to have stuck together through thick and thin. We stand by each other and support each other like a team.

Many people think that all teens do is think about themselves, which well for the most part is true, but I’m not like most teens. I hate technology, I never go on Myspace or Facebook and I barley watch TV. Yeah I have a phone and yeah I’m often times on the computer looking up random things that come to my mind, but for the most part I rather be outside in the bright sun. I love the outside and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else during the day. The sun beaten down on your face as you run around taking in the fresh air. I love to live and cherish every moment I have which makes me an individual in this throwaway society. Instead of throwing things away I try to fix them, I never give up, and even when times get tough I stand strong.
