What Can You Say?
Have you ever told a friend a secret? One that you weren’t supposed to tell a friend, but you did anyway. Even though that little feeling inside you told you not to tell it, but you did it anyways. That secret that you were told pacifically not to tell, but you went off and blabbed it anyways. Then the next day you come to school and everyone knows that small little secret, but it isn’t the true story now because Bob, Ann, Kimberly, and whoever else has heard the story has added a little bit of an exaggeration to it. This happened to me not only once but twice! Yeah, yeah I know should have learned my lesson the first time but who would have thought it could happen again.
Who could ever imagine that 4 girls could turn a small secret into an exploded rumor that could ruin or concern about every one they know. That’s the thing about girls, they love to talk. Blah, Blah, Blah all day long at school, on the phone, in class we honestly never shut up. When we learn a secret it’s like we have something bottled inside of us just waiting to explode to tell someone. I’m not sure about you but every time I learn a secret I have to zip my lips and pinky promise I won’t tell or it will slip out somewhere if it’s to a friend, family member, it just pops right out. Well this little secret that we were supposed to keep hidden, well it concerned almost everyone we knew.
It started out with a boy and girl, then transformed into 2 girls that dislike each other and this same one boy. Of course both girls like the one boy to make it even more complicated. Like I said before girls are so complicated, if they can’t keep a secret they cause drama. Well the small secret got out to 3 different girls. Who then transformed the story into a nightmare, making up things like one girl having up to 3 extra toes. Girls just love to add that extra spin on the story, just to give it a little bit of excitement. Well as the story unraveled more and more people got caught up in the story. Finally, it got resolved but it made me realize that girls are born with this technique to cause drama for each; we go out of our way to make things complicated and the girls that are extra mean cause drama for themselves. We don’t know why we do it. It’s just that triumph of being caught up in something that gives us a thrill. So when you tell a girl that small secret just know that it will be traveling through several peoples ears where it is transformed into an exaggerated rumor.
