Social Networking Benefits Validated
As a student many people are being prepared to take tests not get the right skills to obtain a 21st century job. We need to be more prepared to solve problems and become a critical thinker. we need to be able to communicate with each 0ther and adapt skills that will help with team work. If we continue to just teach student about getting high test scores, we will soon become a plain society with no goals and nothing unique. We need to step up and become leaders and work on goals to accomplish new ideas and technology for the future.

My Impression Now
Summary:
We read a short story about how indie rock has changed this mans life. How he sits on his new apple computer and listens to a song over and over again because he likes the song so much. He says that he especially likes the fact that he is able to count how many times he has listened to a song though it isn't exactly correct, because we often times listen to the song on the radio. He continues to explain how music is his life, and without it he would be nothing.

My Ride, My Revolution
Summary:
A teachers car breaks down and he has to travel on the bus across his city to pick up his car from the dealer ship. He begins to talk about everything he sees and all the different cultures that arrive in his city. He talks about his students and how much he loves to drive. He often goes on and off the topic depending on what subject he is talking about at that moment. This often times makes it very confusing to understand what he is talking about.

Summary:
We analyzed and read a short story of a man who when he was younger made all the different CD's for his school dances. He said that no one wanted the job but he was fascinated by it, because he was the one putting the songs together for everyone to dance to. As he got older he still listened to the songs that he had put on the CDs. He even said that one time a girl asked him to put a certain song on the disc for her and her friends to dance to. Music was a big part of his life.

Pilot Episode
Summary:
We watched an episode from the show My so Called Life about a young girl named Angleia who is evolving into a young girl that likes to party yet she is experiencing problems with her family and friends. Her father is having an affair while her mother is always bossing her around, and not allowing her to go out and grow up. She dyes her hair, and started to hang out with a girl that likes to go out and party. Angleia always seems to do whatever everyone else wants her to do and never seems to be happy.
What I Learned:
While watching the show My So Called Life I learned that everyone seems to have problems and change once they reach high school. Angleia began to change into someone that she wanted to be. It was her life how it was in the moment not how it had been or use to be. They used the footage in sequence and didn't have any flash backs. They also didn't have random footage scattered around everywhere. The story was told through the girl or image and voice not just image or not just voice.

Wings Of Wheels
Summary:
We watched another narrative movie today but this time it was about Bruce Springstien and his making of the album/song Born to Run. Bruce and his producers went over and discussed the way they put the music together, and how long it took just to make one song. They used interesting images in each of the scenes to discribe what Bruce is talking about his journeys they show a road and stops signs. Bruce discusses his ideas on how he came up with the ideas for the album and how long it took him to make the album.
What I Learned:
I learend that making an album is very difficult, and that coming up with songs and the perfect sounds is even more difficult. It also gave me interesting ideas for my video narrative like making distinctive shots of a certain thing that im talking about. It made me realize that artists put alot of their time and ideas into what they do to get the perfect ending, I should do the same when making the narrative movie.

God's Close Up
Summary:
We watched a short video about people that came together from a small little town in Utah to make a painting. The man made paintings of Jesus and used the same boy everytime to play the part of Jesus. His girlfriends family was very involved with the preaching of God but the young girl was atheiest. They talked about how they all came together to make this painting, the painter and the models who were in it. They talked about how they felt about making the pictures and how each one played a small roll in creating the art work.
What I Learned:
I learned that even though everyone is an individual often times they join together to make a whole. Each person played their own roll in the artists art work. It kind of reminded me of the idea that "It's a small World" that sometimes things come together for a reason.

This young boys ideas were so true yet i couldn't imagine being with out love in my life. How could a person not love? What would they fill?

The Road Warrior
Summary:
We watched a small segment from episodes from the O.C where a girl was using a voice
narrative to sound and seem more dramatic. It was very interesting to watch and hear what the girls had to say, about the voice over because they pointed out a few things that I personally wouldn't have thought about, like the idea that it makes everything a little more dramatic. By watching the small segment i learned a few new things about a voice over and how it works.

"What Matters Most"
What matters most to me is my family. The group of 4 well technically 5 if you count the Scooby our dog, who love and care about it each other more then anything. We have each others back in any circumstance. We are each others crutch in a crisis. Even though often times we scream and fight at each other, I know in the end we all still love and care about each other. With out my family i would be nothing that is why my family is what matters most to me.

Son of Rambow
Son of Rambow was about a young boy who wants to shoot a remake video of Rambo. The 2 boys go off onto random adventures to shoot the movie, when all of a sudden their whole school wants to be in the film. The one boy begins to get famous, having everyone want to be like him asking him to be in the movie. When really its the other boys movie and he doesn't want all these people in the movie. The boys become friends at the end. It's a cute little movie about 2 boys remaking a movie.

My Experience/ Perspective with Current Economic Climate
Cash Flow
I've never been worried to much about money, that might be because i was so young and didn't understand what money really was or what it was worth. I began to get older and realize the worth of a dollar. I've gone from having 2 jobs at one time to have no jobs with no money to spend. My family is a middle class family that gets off well, yet if either of my parents where to lose their jobs we would be in a crisis. The economy today has become so greedy. All you here on the news is more money, tax this, or hundreds of thousands of people are losing their jobs. What have we become? A money sucking community that only cares about themselves. If as a community we work and begin to buy things we may be able to get back on track and have our community growing again. If we continue to hide our money in safes in our backyards instead of in our banks we will continue to stay the same if not sink lower into an economic crisis. As a student going off into college i ex specially understand the crisis with money. You have to pay for everything in college and if people arn't putting their money in banks, students going to college are unable to get loans.

What Can You Say?
Have you ever told a friend a secret? One that you weren’t supposed to tell a friend, but you did anyway. Even though that little feeling inside you told you not to tell it, but you did it anyways. That secret that you were told pacifically not to tell, but you went off and blabbed it anyways. Then the next day you come to school and everyone knows that small little secret, but it isn’t the true story now because Bob, Ann, Kimberly, and whoever else has heard the story has added a little bit of an exaggeration to it. This happened to me not only once but twice! Yeah, yeah I know should have learned my lesson the first time but who would have thought it could happen again.
Who could ever imagine that 4 girls could turn a small secret into an exploded rumor that could ruin or concern about every one they know. That’s the thing about girls, they love to talk. Blah, Blah, Blah all day long at school, on the phone, in class we honestly never shut up. When we learn a secret it’s like we have something bottled inside of us just waiting to explode to tell someone. I’m not sure about you but every time I learn a secret I have to zip my lips and pinky promise I won’t tell or it will slip out somewhere if it’s to a friend, family member, it just pops right out. Well this little secret that we were supposed to keep hidden, well it concerned almost everyone we knew.
It started out with a boy and girl, then transformed into 2 girls that dislike each other and this same one boy. Of course both girls like the one boy to make it even more complicated. Like I said before girls are so complicated, if they can’t keep a secret they cause drama. Well the small secret got out to 3 different girls. Who then transformed the story into a nightmare, making up things like one girl having up to 3 extra toes. Girls just love to add that extra spin on the story, just to give it a little bit of excitement. Well as the story unraveled more and more people got caught up in the story. Finally, it got resolved but it made me realize that girls are born with this technique to cause drama for each; we go out of our way to make things complicated and the girls that are extra mean cause drama for themselves. We don’t know why we do it. It’s just that triumph of being caught up in something that gives us a thrill. So when you tell a girl that small secret just know that it will be traveling through several peoples ears where it is transformed into an exaggerated rumor.

I am From
I am from a family of four
Who I couldn’t love more
I am the oldest of 2
With a dog named Scooby-Doo
I am from the outdoors
Where the grass roars and the chocolate drips from smores
When the fire shines bright and the bugs put up a fight
I am from the windy breeze
Where most people don’t say please
I am the sand between your toes
And the scent under your nose
I am the bright light
Where the sun shines just right
When it hits your face in the perfect place
I am from boat rides on the tides
Where the water splashes
When the large lightening flashes
I am from beetles and bugs
And the giant bear hugs
I am the one that captures them in jars
Especially the ones that look like they could be from mars
I am from pizza and fries
Where they taste so delicious but there filled with lies
I am from the ocean
Where the water tosses in motion
Where the water is so blue and the promises are so true
I am from the old west
Were the cowboys are the best
With their oversized boots
These are my families roots
I am me

On the Subway
Just a couple months ago I took the subway for the first time. I have been driving ever since I could remember if it wasn’t a car traveling through my neighborhood, it was a boat, and if it wasn’t a boat it was dirt bikes in the dessert. I just love driving. It’s that experience you get when you turn on the car and you hear the engine roar. It’s the thrill of rolling down the window and having the wind blow through your hair as you take in the view. It’s the fact that you can turn up the music as loud as you want and no one can say anything about it. Most of my journeys usually begin in a car but this one takes place on the subway.
It was a bright and beautiful Saturday morning I hoped in the car, picked up my friend Mike and began to drive. We were going ice skating at the Persian Square in Downtown Los Angeles when he asked “why not take the subway and save gas?” I had never even thought of that before, so we looked up the directions and off to the subway station we went. We arrived and it defiantly wasn’t how I pictured it. Hobos laid around the entrance, women in mini skirts paraded around and everyone seemed in a rush. We went down the escalators bought our tickets and hoped on the next arriving train. When we got inside it smelt horrible like old hot dogs and farts, I couldn’t help but plug my nose for a second. Then we were off it started out slow when all of a sudden we shot like a rocket, Mike laughed as I jolted back in my seat. I looked around there was such a variety of people on the bus. I noticed that some people were sleeping, while others read their books in silence. Yet, we were there together, awaiting our destinations. I looked around again seeming to be the only one excited to be on the subway.
We arrived at our destination, Persian Square, we hoped off and up the stairs we went. I could still taste the scent of old hot dog on my tongue but I quickly pulled out a piece of winter fresh gum and chewed away. It was so bright outside that the sun glistened on the buildings making them sparkle. I’ve been to downtown L.A several times but this time seemed different almost like I was wrapped up in the culture. We passed by several jewelry stores, markets and even a McDonalds when we finally reached the ice skating rink. We waited in line to pay for our skates, and then hopped on the ice rink. I began to look around at all the buildings that towered above me thinking who might be in there doctors, lawyers, accountants? I wasn’t sure.
We finished ice skating, when a random man came up and asked for a hot dog. We replied that we didn’t have one and kept on walking back to the subway. I couldn’t believe how much fun we had, and all the different things I got to experience just by taking the subway. We walked down the stairs and back on to the hot dog smelling train where I couldn’t help but hold my nose one more time.
